Remember the rumors about the Chechen rebel groups operating in Afghanistan supposed to fight on the side of Taliban? Guess what, it has figured out that these rumors were actually facts. One of the inner confidential reports of the Georgian security services has come to light. The report contains the plans of transporting routes of the Chechen warlords Gelaev and Mezhidov and a number of rebels under their command into Afghanistan. Gelaev and Mezhidov have officially asked the Georgian government to admit help to get to the border with Turkey unimpeded. The chief staff of Georgia’s state’s secret service provided the rebels with transportation means for a save transit passage. After reaching the border the rebels are going to use the secret and save paths to Iran, where the local Shiite extremist groups will admit them support and escort the Chechens to the border with Afghanistan. After that the local government and America’s military units will get a real nasty headache. And this should be right, because they have been warned about the Chechen threat in Afghanistan often, but didn’t pay attention to that. Why should Georgian government walk such a risky path? It is quite easy to explain - on the one hand they get rid of the Chechen extremists and improve relations with Moscow on the other. But the question is - what America will say to that?
