UK Firefighters dispute

[ European Journal of International Law- Discussion Forum ] [ Forum Help ]

The UK Government have indicated they wish to outlaw strikes in the Fire Service. The reason is that they say the public would be at risk. They do not make it widely know however that they refuse to publish their own study which took 4 years and showed that the UK fire service is only 1/2 the size it needs to be.

Given that they refuse to make this widely available to the public and have now said they want a 20% cut in the workforce of the Fire Service is it the firefighters striking for pay and against cuts who are the major safety threat to the public or the UK Government themselves?
