Pursuant to the comments made by André Scheidtmann; I'd like to point out that even an ICJ judgement is not necessarily going to affect the United States. One need only consider the LaGrand case of 2000 or USA v Nicaragua 1986 to note that America is rarely concerned by ICJ rulings against it. As Andre noted, there will be little to no punishment for the US' actions.

However, I cannot help but feel that the desperately needed reforms of the United Nations could have been put on an indefinate hold because of the US/France standoff...
